  • Candidates must first ensure that the PMP Handbook is carefully studied, in order to clarify each step to a Certificate.
  • The Pre-requisites are: a basic qualification of high school diploma and an associate degree, or the global equivalent, must be followed by a minimum of sixty months of experience in non-overlap and exclusive project management is essential. This must include at least 7,500 hours of being in the lead and directing project tasks. Those with Bachelor degrees need a minimum of 36 hours (instead of 60), with a minimum of 4,500 hours of leadership experience. Additionally, in both cases, 35 contact hours of project management training must be shown. 
  • The candidate must next become a Member of the local PMI Chapter. This will not only provide essential data on the PMP Exam, PMP Prep Workshops, and a free PMBOK Guide, it will finally discount the Exam fees to a greater extent than the membership costs!
  • It is now time to apply, by submitting the PMP Credential Application. The setting up of a date will provide a definite target to achieve, though in reality, first time passes are rare. But scheduling the exam on the Prometric website will only add to the experience.
